Made from recycled shellfish process waste, ChitoVan™ is a biodegradable polymer that removes suspended sediment, heavy metals, and organic contaminants from construction water, enabling it to meet stringent NPDES permit requirements. And because ChitoVan™ cleans more effectively than competitive products, you use much less of it, saving you up to 30% over the cost of other chemical treatment agents. That gives the construction industry, for the first time, an affordable chemical treatment option.

ChitoVan™ products are also environmentally friendly and biodegrade quickly. They are completely safe for both people and animals, and when used as directed, they are removed along with the sediment and other contaminants that may be present in the water, so they cannot harm aquatic life.

Choose the product that best fits your application

ChitoVan™ products are available in a variety of formulations, including:

• ChitoVan™ CA (chitosan acetate)
• ChitoVan™ HV (chitosan acetate high viscosity)
• ChitoVan™ LC (lactate cartridge)

ChitoVan™ CA and ChitoVan™ HV, which are in liquid form, may be injected into turbid water using metering pumps and then filtered or gravity settled. The products are available in two different viscosities—one for warmer temperatures and one for colder temperatures.

The third option, ChitoVan™ LC, is a passive treatment technology: placed in drain pipes or other conveyance channels upstream of the settling pond. As the ChitoVan™ dissolves in turbid water, it coagulates suspended sediment particles, allowing for easy filtration or gravity settling.
